OHAI Nazaré reopens this summer: reopening details, family activities and outdoor experiences

On 1 July 2026, OHAI Nazaré opens its doors again with more energy and excitement than ever. We know many of you have been looking forward to coming back, and others are preparing for their first visit. That’s why we want to share what has happened over these months, what we are currently working on during the closure period and, above all, what awaits you this summer.

What happened in January

At the start of the year, as usual, the resort was closed for maintenance and improvement work. At the end of January, Portugal was hit by Storm Kristin, an exceptional weather event that particularly impacted the Leiria district, causing some damage to the resort’s natural surroundings and certain accommodation units.

Faced with this situation, we saw an opportunity to further elevate the OHAI experience and decided to postpone the reopening, dedicating the time needed to the full recovery and improvement of the resort.

What we’re working on during the closure

From the very first moment, we made the decision not to simply repair. We wanted to go further and use this time to offer an experience better than any previous season.

The most visible change is the introduction of the new Glamping Boutique, a premium accommodation category with three bedrooms and capacity for up to six people. A space designed for families and groups seeking genuine comfort in harmony with the natural surroundings.

Added to this are new bungalows with views, available in three types: one-bedroom Bungalow Premium Vista, two-bedroom Bungalow Vista and two-bedroom Bungalow Premium Vista. New options located in the western area of the resort, with privileged views of the sunset.

We are also working on improving the dining facilities, to ensure the gastronomic experience matches the natural setting.

And, as a core part of our recovery process, we have launched a reforestation programme in the green areas affected by the storm. This initiative includes the planting of native species and the diversification of vegetation. A long-term vision aimed at creating a resilient and biodiverse Iberian forest.

To ensure a positive impact, we are working with specialist landscape architects who are supporting the design and development of this project.

Swimming pools and water facilities included in your stay

Among OHAI Nazaré’s water facilities, the iconic container pool stands out as one of the resort’s most distinctive spaces. Built from reused shipping containers, it reflects our commitment to sustainability and respect for the environment.

The water park features slides for all ages. The indoor pool is ideal for any weather conditions. And the children’s pool is designed so that little ones can enjoy themselves in complete safety. Access to all these facilities is included in your stay, at no additional cost.

Summer 2026: the most complete entertainment season

This closure period is not only allowing us to restore the resort — we are also dedicating it to creating the most complete entertainment programme OHAI Nazaré has ever offered.

From 1 July, the resort will feature a permanent zone of inflatables and outdoor games available throughout the entire summer season. A space designed for children to play freely while adults relax or take part in their own activities.

Because summer 2026 has something for everyone. We have designed a programme that includes workshops, yoga, fitness sessions, wine tastings, cultural evenings, themed parties, bootcamps and family games, among many other activities. All coordinated by a dedicated entertainment team, present and committed to making every day at the resort a memorable experience.

And there is one activity that takes on a special meaning this year: the reforestation sessions, where families will be able to plant their own tree in the resort’s green areas. A way to connect with nature, leave their mark on OHAI Nazaré and teach little ones the value of the world around us.

Summer 2026 is being built with care, with you in mind. At OHAI Nazaré, we’ll see you from 1 July. We can’t wait to welcome you.

The resort’s padel courts will not be available during the 2026 season. We invite you to explore other local sports options and the activities included in the summer entertainment programme.
